Shirley Owens: Hello and welcome back. Today, I'm reflecting on my conversation with Susan Burrell. One of the main focuses was on getting through turbulent times. And I wanted to offer some hope amongst the chaos that's going on in the world right now. None of us have actually gone to anything like this before, there's a lot of fear, there's the unknown, the what if's, just a ton of uncertainty. Although there is all of this going on around us, we could look at it as just life, life beautifully happening all around us. I often use the term beautiful chaos. I've definitely not had an easy life or a boring one. I also can find evidence that it's been super hard and rough, or I could describe it as beautiful chaos. So I just use that term. Susan and I talked about the breakdown of a structure, a breakdown of habitat for Humanity, and then the rebuilding of it. I like to think of it like a cocoon and the growth that happens inside along with the butterfly that emerges from it. Right now, life may seem crazy, uncertain, scary. I could use a dozen other words that mean the same thing or we could say that life is in beautiful chaos right now. We can find the butterfly that could come from it. I believe that when this is over, the world will have reset a bit to a slower pace, more time at home, more self reflection, the ability to see what's most important to us. For sure, a different perspective. And perhaps, more gratitude.

This week, I would have you reflect on this time, what good and positive things have come out of it? What will be different for you moving forward? What butterfly will emerge for you? Each day this week, write one positive thing that will come from this time. Write down how you have grown, write down how you want to continue to grow. I promise you, by the end of the week, you will have an entirely new perspective on life as we know it now. I love you all. I hope you can find beautiful chaos this week that it will have you looking for the positives in your future. See you next Tuesday.
