Shirley Owens: Hey, everyone, welcome back. It's actually been kind of a little bit of time for me. I have launched my podcast and I'm super excited about it. I have listeners all over the world, which is unreal. I have listeners in Morocco, and in Australia, and the US, and United Kingdom, so it's pretty exciting. Anyway, I wanted to reflect on Julie Moret's interview, and I usually do that right after I'm done with the interview. And so, this time it's a little bit different because for some reason life kinda got in the way after I spoke with her and I never got to it. And so, I sat down to listen to the podcast and it's kind of crazy because I feel like I heard so many things this time listening back to it that I didn't hear while I was actually doing it. So yeah, I'm glad this time that I waited for that. I recently had a moment, on our podcast we talk about "to me by me, through me as me," and you'll learn all about that when you listen to it, or if you have listened to it, you know I'm talking about. I've had a couple TO ME moments in the last week and a half. I recently just had hip replacement surgery, and so I've had a lot of downtime and thought time, and I think that, yeah, sometimes we get to that pity mode where we're like, Oh, why am I going through this again? And I've had a few days, not very many actually, which I'm pretty proud of myself, but I have had a few days in the last two weeks of kind of wondering why I'm going through this. This my second hip surgery of the year, and this time it's a full replacement, and I had a piece of my body gone, and it's just kinda weird to, you know, I should be excited about being a little bit bionic, but it is a pretty unreal feeling to have something like this happen. So anyway, it just reminded me of that part of the podcast where sometimes we can get into our heads and think of things that are happening to us.

But there's so much more out there when we work by us through us and as us, and I wanted to focus my reflection today on a part of it that I think is hitting home right now, that is creating an environment around us that helps us to get into that flow, that state of mind where time's passing and we don't even know that there's such a thing as time, and we're just having a passion for something that we absolutely love and enjoy. And that's a place of flow where we can start really creating in our minds and dreaming, and that is a place where we actually start to see what it is that we want. And for me, this week, it was, well, right before my hip surgery I went outside and planted a bunch of flowers and some pots that I love out there. And I knew that afterwards I'd love to be outside just in the sun of flowers all around me, and that was the space that I created. And then inside, of course, it's Christmas time, and I decorated a tree in our bedroom, and we decorated the house, and that was an environment for me that I love to be in this time of year. And so, I think it's really fun to create that environment around you, and it also on a daily basis, on a minute basis, even while you're in that environment, you're really able to tap into that flow state. And the other thing that I did the other night was my son Saber and I, he's an artist and he loves to paint, and we decided to just kind of have a date night painting, and he invited a couple of friends over, and it's something really new for me, but I loved it and I actually created something pretty cool.

And so, that's something that I think I might start doing as a passion and just kind of as a break from regular life so that I can tap into that little state of flow where I am not really working, or mommying, or Wifing, or kitting, or anything, or I'm just like in a place where my mind is flowing and I'm not really thinking but thoughts come in naturally and organically. I wanted to just reflect on that today, cause I felt like that was a really cool thing that I heard from my interview with Julie. And why not do that? Why not start the new year creating a space around you, creating an environment around you, whether it be a new hobby like I took up, or whether it be, you know, creating visually a space around you like I did. It could be creating the people around you that you want. Creating the attitude, the outlook, you know, setting new goals for the year. Really finding things that you're passionate about, dancing, singing, shopping, you know, whatever it is. Find the things that you really, really, really enjoy doing and spend more time doing those because that's creating the environment around you where your thoughts will organically turn to happy and to what you really want. And that's what it's all about. That's what I'm all about. And what we're all trying to accomplish here is getting what we want in life. Of course, happiness, and peace, and love. I love you all. I'm so grateful to be here with you today again, and I can't wait to hear what you think about the interview with Julie Moret. Have an amazing day and go create
