Shirley Owens: Hello and welcome back. Today, I'm reflecting on my conversation with Daniel Gomez. Something I've been thinking about lately came up in our convo, and that's the difference between ego and confidence. Muhammad Ali once said: "It's hard to be humble, when you're as great as I am." I seriously love that dude, but honestly, he had so much ego. Confidence is founded on faith, respect and humility in the ability of oneself. Ego comes from a place in our mind that wants to be heard, wants to be right, wants to be the center of attention. It may or may not be the truth. It's basically how we see or want to see ourselves. It's our sense of self importance. So when we are relying on an ego to drive us, we make everything about us. We want admiration and respect from others. We have a hard time feeling gratitude because nothing is ever enough. We're always wanting more and more. Don't get me wrong, we all have egos. I know I do. And ego, like for Muhammad Ali, can sometimes get us to some very high places. But there's another way to get there, and that's through self confidence. When we are run by self-confidence, we feel gratitude for who we are. We feel gratitude for what's around us. We feel confident in our abilities to create, but it comes from a place of humility and respect for ourselves.

This week, I would have you look into yourself. What is running you? Do you trust yourself? Who are you being? Are you confident in your own abilities to create whatever you want? Or do you think that everyone else should be creating around you to make your life what you think it should be? Are you creating life around you? Or are you waiting for others to straighten up so you recreate it? Do you feel aligned in love with yourself? Or do you feel that you're so amazing that everybody should be in love with you? I think this is one of the hardest things for us to see in ourselves. I know it's one of the hardest things to define, but I would have you know your worth. Have confidence in it, whatever it is that you're good at, and when you do, you will become better at more things. Ego takes a back seat and confidence steps in. I love you all truly, and I hope you have an amazing confident week and I will see you next Tuesday.
